8. 廿世紀 13-14 Nov 26 – Dec 9
9. 何去何從 15-16 Dec 10 - 23

Initial objectives:
To gain an overview of the history of Christian spirituality;
To get to know some of the significant person/idea throughout the history of Christian spirituality
To have personal application to our lives.

How to get the book:
For area out side Hong Kong, you may try to order a copy from Amazon.com.
For members in Hong Kong, try to get it from Christian bookstore such as 基道書樓。（I will give them a call tomorrow and see how many stocks they hold.） Price is HK$68.

Language: 中文或英文皆歡迎。

Discussion guidelines:
Whether you agree or disagree with the author, and/or the rest of the group, ‘Respect’ for individual’ is essential.
Try to stick to the topic as much as you can.
Since this is an elementary study of the subject, please try not to dig into or side track to too much details of the topic. (However, further discussion can be supplemented by other threads in other areas of SHC.)

A personal reminder: Other than gaining historical knowledge, I strongly encourage every participant to focus on how those Christian spiritual disciplines and exercises are relevant to each of us. Therefore, we will read in a relatively slow pace, and, hopefully we can all take some time to re-think our spiritual life: are we living what we understand or believe?

英文版第二版在 2005 一月發行。我相信暫時未有中文版。

I am reading second edition. This is the contents of second edition:

1) Spirituality and Christianity
2) Spiritual Formation: Being, Relating and Doing
3) Jesus Christ and the Bible
4) the Beginnings of a Global Community
5) The Eurpoean Era
6) Protestant and Catholic Reform
7) The "Modern" Era
8) The West since 1900
9) The Non-Western World since 1900
10) Where Do we go from here?

Through the comparasion of the contents between 1st and 2nd edition, I think the second edition has an addition of (9), expansion of (2) and (3). I do not have 1st edition, I cannot compare. :dunno:

不如你待作者回信後才決定吧。我個人認為，若分別不是很多，有中文就看中文吧，對一些會員來說這始終比較方便，易讀，省錢。

同意！我和Tony 正在offline 討論第一和第二版的分別。初步估計是把第一版的"廿世紀" 分析和擴展成為 8) The West since 1900
9) The Non-Western World since 1900

其他的 則是minor changes.

又，我已問過基道，他們只餘兩本存貨。若有需要，我們就要統計一下要多少本，然後我去訂購。

Right now, there are only one or two of us who needs to get the book. Unless you want to get the english version, you can get the chinese version of the book in this thread (http://www.christianroundtable.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1313).

I still don't know any local (Hongkong) bookstore carries the english version now. If you really want the english version, most likely you will need to order it from Amazon or through New Chapter or Evangelical reading room.
