我認為我們應該讀一些經典的文章，這條link的「The Historical Roots of Our Ecologic Crisis」並不是原著而是撮寫，不過程度適中，不太淺也不太深，我相信一般高中或是大一的同學都可以看得通。

究竟我們今的生態危機是不是因為西方文化根深柢固地受著基督教文化影響所致？基督教的世界觀是不是早已經在創世記中命定了，如某些生態神學家所評，只視大地為一個可以任由人操控、開採的他者？

希臘神話中有大地女神（Gaia)，中華文化崇尚自然，那基督教對大自然的態度，又是不是如Jr.Lynn White所言的負面？大家又點睇文中所提到的Saint Francis of Assisi？他的思想可以影響到今天的基督教會嗎？

好得意的文章，不過因為此文是經典作，可能你已經看過了，那也不要緊吧。如有原著的Link，請賜教～ :)

I have several points.

1, I'd admit that Christianity is an Anthropocentric Religion. But is it necessary, and possible, to be Ecocentric? i.e. can we be Green while also being Anthropocentric?

2. It seems that his analysis could only be applied to centain type of Theology. And I would wonder whether it is caused by Christianity itself, or of Greco-Roman influence.

When it comes to the environment, talk is cheap. ;)
I replaced many of the tungsten light bulbs with energy-efficient fluorescent ones about two months ago. One 15Watt energy-efficient fluorescent light bulb is equivalent to one 60 Watt conventional light bulb. And it lasts 7 times longer. If you have to buy a car, buy a petroleum-electric hybrid one.

The environment has been deteriorating very quickly for the past couple of decades. Germany had a huge flood in 1999, and now they are getting another one again. We've got to do something about it, if not for ourselves, for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
