他提及三種倫理價值:一、所有人類的相等價值(equal worth of all humans);二、基於合作的相互性(reciprocity);三、我們能夠愛大自然的能力(capacity for love of nature)。

"In this lecture I suggest that people who are serious about slowing global warming should make the moral arguments for going the road of the new coal technology. This has not been done loudly and clearly. Indeed, when General Electric started its clean coal program is 2005, its Chairman and CEO said that he was initiating the program, “not because it is trendy or moral, but because it will accelerate [economic growth].”3 That is exactly the style of half-way justifications that I wish to reject as incomplete. The moral justification, based on the consequence of global warming for the equal worth of the lives of all people today and the health of future generations, gives the strongest additional support that advocacy can find."
