雖然現在有點言之過早，我有以下提議。

作為幫助大家略略認識近代的神學思想，David Ford編的那本The Modern Theologians: An Introduction to Christian Theology in the Twentieth Century　（http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0631195920/qid=1131204165/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-3813589-2552717?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 ），和它的姊妹書 G. R. Evans, ed., The Medieval Theologians: An Introduction to Theology in the Medieval Period（http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0631212035/qid=1131204349/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-3813589-2552717?v=glance&s=books ）看來不錯。我們可以每隔一段時間抽讀兩三篇。這樣，即使不太懂神學的會員都可以漸漸掌握到。

各位有何意見？ :)

This is a very good introductory text. Highly recommended. I have read half of them. It covers a wide range of topics in contemporary theology. Each chapter was written by an author specializing in the area and can be read independently. We can start reading those basic chapters, like Karl Barth, Paul Tillich, Bultmann, etc...Not difficult to read... :)

Not familiar with: G. R. Evans, ed., The Medieval Theologians: An Introduction to Theology in the Medieval Period

I heard that Evans' "Medieval" is also good.

However, the "Reformation Theologians" is a bit too extensive... including theologians normally not included.

And morever, the "Early Church Theologians" (exact name need to check, but it is in the same series") is also available.

By the way, there is a Chinese translation of the Second Edition of Ford's Modern Theologian.

Now they got a third edition in English already, with extensive or even thorough revisions for many chapters. By the way, is Bultmann still included in the Third Edition?

No choice la... the series keep updating new versions for every several years... it is not easy and not cheap for the Chinese publishing houses to following them, since they keep issuing new editions.

david ford had edited the 3rd ed of the same book, blackwell publishing 2005, the content has been broadened. in logos book store, it's selling at about $280-300.

關於中世紀神學思想，例如甚麼唯名論之爭，或許會要求讀者具備一定的柏拉圖哲學或者亞里士多德哲學基礎。

我覺得，反而初期教會時期神學思想會比較容易掌握，而且早期教父對於基督教思想的形成有著決定性的作用，我建議不如也考慮讀讀初期教會時期神學思想。

又或者，反正全部 Pre-Nicene, Nicene, Post-Nicene Fathers （尼西亞前後期教父）著作都可以網上任看，不如也選讀一些。

至於如何選讀？例如奧古斯丁，其實國內也有學者（如中國社會科學院的周偉馳）選譯了奧古斯丁的三一論著作，我們可以參照他們的選譯範圍來釐定我們的閱讀範圍。漢語基督教文化研究所又譯了奧古斯丁《論原罪與恩典》，是關於 Pelagians 之爭，關於預定論問題。讀過奧古斯丁比較原始的預定論闡述，遺留下甚麼問題，再看看加爾文時代的論爭，可以做個古今比較呢。
